Anyone know where I can get a model 30 tiller for my '64 110?

I'm almost wish I had never viewed this post because since I saw the pics of the 110 & 112, I've had this insane urge to buy one to restore. Lord knows, I have enough unfinished projects already without undertaking any others. In any case, turns out a neighbor of mine has a 110 with mower deck and tiller that he wants to part with. I know nothing about these other than they look like a scaled down 4020 which I think is really nifty. He had the engine completely rebuilt a couple years ago and has hardly used it since. I tried it out today and everything seems to work except the tranny doesn't want to stay in second....it'll stay if you hold your hand on the shifter but soon as you let go, it pops into neutral. The engine runs beautifully with not a hint of smoke. The electric lift works great. The tiller and deck look ok, but it appears the tiller belt is either way too long or maybe there's supposed to be some tensioner pulley somewhere on the tracor that is missing? He didn't know cause he bought it like that and has never used the tiller. I'm curious if anyone knows the year of this rig. It's a Type TO 633 and the serial number is 289757. It will definately need lots of work and I have no idea where I can find new decals, steering wheel center cap, headlight bezel,seat cover, etc. He wants $950.00 for it because that is what he paid to have the engine overhauled. That sounds like alot to me considering what it'll cost to restore, but I guess the fact that it is right next door does make some difference as I won't need to burn $300.00 worth of gas to go get it. Does this sound like way too high an asking price? Ok, so should I or shouldn't I?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, if anybody has a nice Liquidator they want to trade for this....it could be arranged. I know, that probably falls into the "as if" category, but you can't blame a guy for trying.

75rat nice job on the lawn tractor. It looks as if you did an outstanding job. Two thumbs up.

Good one, Dave. I've been awaiting those pics too, trying to be patient given the marital problems he seems to be experiencing. In any case, I hope he and his wife patch things up and that the Dator is for real.....and that he has a thing for 110's.......but I think I've got as good a chance of bumping into Elvis at a Burger King as I do of seeing those pics.

Hiya Ike.....guess it's been awhile since I viewed this post and I just now, noticed your message. I'd probably part with the tiller for $350.00 or so, but it's way heavy and the shipping would be outrageaous. Where are you located? Perhaps, if you are within reasonable driving distance, it might make sense to pick it up?

Plow day is on despite the recent snow, I am going down tonight to plow and will be there saturday. I'll get a few pics to post.......hopefully not one of a 140 stuck in the mud.
