with spring start up a little late coming this year i took the opertunity to do one last project before the summer. my brother and i did this for my dad who thinks tractors 24 hours a day and being a collector of the other brand. he always thought that they should of made a snowmobile. so with that in mind this is what we come up with and plan to give it to him on fathers day.

Chris

You obviously have way to much time on your hands or you are suffering from severe frostbite to the head. That just aint right. Your Dad wil love it and people will ask. < I didnt know Farmall built sleds> Going to here that one alot. Should be fun and great job.

Any chance you remembered to do that small decal that said :

Cross-Country
Limited edition or something like that?

man, if I had your talent, I would make something just like that only for John Deere. You ever consider making a decal kit where an average guy could get a Polaris or Arctic Cat painted John Deere green then apply your decals to complete the job?

Your dad will be very proud-of you and his new snowmobile.

Chris
As a long time tractor guy, albeit of the green persuasion, I am left speechless!
What a great idea! I think your dad will likely shed a tear or two

I can't help but wonder what a red sled would fetch at an auction or on Ebay?
Can't help but think of an Oliver sled now...or a Minneapolis Moline.... or..or..

Nice job!

Fantastic job, Chris. It'll definately have some people wondering. Did you consider stuffing a diesel in it? I bet one of those three cylinder Isuzus out of a semi reefer unit would bolt right in. I'd love to see the look on your dad's face when he see's the sled.

Chris great looking job! I'm sure your dad will be proud to ride it around and show it off. Does it have a PTO on the back of the seat?

:)

Do you have any Team Deere decals left for sale?

Dave.

Nice Job Chris! I have interest in that red stuff. I have interest only the the 2 stroke 2 cyl Deeres. On the ag side I am heavily red and have wondered what if the red side ever got into sleds.

Think what you want, I have worked on both. Still liking the red but I will not go any farther there are always believers in both colors.

yes i still have some decals left for the jd site. this started out as a 1988 polaris 400 indy
the only thing on it that was used from the original sled was the tunnel and bulkhead the
rest of the build was using a wide range of parts from my and my brothers inventory of parts, mostly nos or close to new parts salvage from parted out wrecks. i installed the oldest style indy hood because i always thought that it was the best looking, and it seemed to fit the era better for the farmall connection. i love to build theme or different than normal snowmobiles just to see what people think.

thanks for all the great compliments
