Mystery O-ring

Post by 427cobra »

I found this O-ring by my chain case after I changed the fluid and cleaned the chain case out.

Does anyone know where this thing belongs?

The sled I was working on was a 1995 Indy XLT Touring. It has reverse and electric start.

So not sure if it fell off when taking the case apart or maybe it just got dropped in the sled on accident. Anyways...any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Eric

I did some checking and there are only three o-rings located in the chaincase of a 95 XLT Touring......two of them are way bigger than yours...and the other is a fair bit smaller. So it must have fallen off from something else or one of your buddies likes playing pranks. I've had fun with some of my pals over the years by placing a piston c-clip on their workbenches just after they've finished reassembling an engine. Funny how quickly they take the engine apart when they notice the clip.

Oh boy, Rich. Guess I'd be in deep trouble if you and I worked together. That wasn't even one of my worst pranks. I had a young fella working for me a few years back and one day, I stumbled upon a dead crow on the highway. I picked it up, then went to the local auto body shop and snagged a bunch of broken windshield glass from them. I figured the young lad needed some initiation, so I went to his beater truck, rolled down the passenger side window, tossed the crow on the floor of the cab, scattered some glass on the floor and seat and stuck some down inside the window slot. When he finished his shift, he went to his truck and came straight back to the shop telling us a crow had crashed right through his window and killed itself. I let the guy drive around with a chunk of green garbage bag taped in place of his "missing" window for over a week before I came clean. So if you ever have occaission to call Kelly at FAST in Headingly,MB...ask him about the crow.

Rodimus, I thought there was only one Fast in Headingly....It's the place just west of Headingly on the north side of #1.....pretty much directly north of the truck weigh station. Kelly's been managing it for a year or two and worked for Headingly Sport Shop before that.
