Got the liquidator home from Indiana last Saturday!
, Bad news is that the sled does look a little worse than the pix... but thats OK. Seems most all is there as far as my knowledge goes. In shipping, the trucker put a 4" nylon strap over the hood between the scoop and the windshield and it wore the paint off from the movement. Apparently, even though I specifically expressed care in transporting, he didnt know it would wear into the hood like it did and he probably felt it was just an old sled.
Obvious parts needed will include a windshield, seat, and skis. Havent worked on gettting it started. Wondering if I should try starting it by priming it first and going from there or have the carbs rebuilt first? Are the rebulid kits for the carbs easily available and if so where?
I will get some pix up of it so we can diagnose from them if possilbe.
Thanks for your input!

hvy,
to bad about the hood, if it's not broke and the rest of the hood is good it not to hard to fix(just scuff out and respray with jd blitz black)which is still avalible i can make you a new 340 decal so you don't need a whole set. skies are pretty easy to find most of the deeres of that vintage had the same skies. windsheilds are still avalibe to just ask on the site and i'm sure someone can find you a place to buy one. as for the seat that might be a little hard to find. i don't know of any around but i can keep an eye out in MN. really all you need is the foam and than have john make you a cover does a real good job and is pretty reasonable.
good luck, jddecalguy

Thanks JDdecal,
Hoping greenxracer may be able to help with a seat from a prior message. As far as the carbs, rebuild or try them first? Crazy question, was elec start an option and do all liqiud cooled sleds have a heat transfer under the seat? Also this one has some type of button on the throttle. Not sure if it is supposed to be there. Wires from it are cut and I have no clue where it would have gone. Any ideas?

at least clean them, so that's what you mean by rebuilding them. to do this take off airbox loosen clamp on carb flange tip carb over remove 4 screws on bowl carefully remove so not to damage gasket spray carb and bowl out good with carb cleaner and blow out with air carfully not to bend or damage needle and seat or float make sure that there isn't any crudd in it and reassemble. no to elec. start. the liquidator only has the rad. stock if it has a tunnel cooler someone has added it which is not uncommon dators can run hot so some people did this to cool them down.
