CJ Signing Aaron Z's Hood

Post by JoeRainville »

Here is a picture I am so glad I took. When I asked CJ to sign Aarons hood he told me: "I am not one of these guys (ETD), I am just a photographer." to which I replied: "You are THE photographer, you are the man!" So he signed it for me.

Sorry about the goof in the title, it was supposed to read "CJ signs Aaron Z's Hood" but I hit the darn enter key by accident. (Thanks Matt for fixing it!)

Anyway, here is another pic of the late and great CJ signing Aarons hood. I am so glad I was able to meet him in person before he left us.

CJ Signing Aaron Z's Hood

Here is CJ doing what he did best, getting an ETD members pic as he signed the hood. Thanks for Aaron for putting me up to bring his hood (that I have yet to return!), and for John Carlson for letting me know it was OK to bring it out and ask everyone for Autographs.

When I asked Willie Asnew (sp) to sign, I also said "I hope we are driving you guys crazy or anything". Willie replied "Are you kidding, we love this stuff!"

Thanks guys, it was an honor and privledge to rub elbows with you all...

PS: Aaron is correct below, that is Tom Ottie in the background. Tom was even kind enough to give me his copy of the awsome introduction video John's son Nick made for Bob. All these guys were just great!

CJ Signing Aaron Z's Hood

Wow! Once again, I appear to be right in the middle of the action.
That's me and my X8 in the first two photos. I remember Joe bringing in the 340s hood to be autographed, and I remember some of the guys signing it, but I have no clear recollection of CJ signing, but yet there I am, standing right behind him.
Thanks for posting that Joe, it went right into my album.

In the bottom photo, that is Rich and Mary in the background. That is about as much of Mary as we saw outside, generally she had a knit dickey pulled up to her eyes.
I think Rich has mentioned her being a Floridian, That might have something to do with that, because it really wasn't all that cold.

Joe...thanks for posting the photos. I printed them out and they are on display with the Ramstad Memorial area in the museum where we have many of his great photos displayed.

C J will be missed by us all but it will be impossible to replace him here at the HOF as he is our historian, a co-founder and a 25 year board member ! !

Our thoughts and prayers are with Karla and Marly as they gone on without their husband and father, son and brother.

Again, thanks to all the JD guys for making this years event so great.

Joe, thanx a bunch for taking it out to the HOF & having all who was involved sign it. The hood deserved more than gathering dust. I also thank all the drivers, engineers, guys on the assembly line who made it all happen with the JD sleds. I believe you'll be hard pressed to find a group that supports this board & the sleds that is as enthusiastic as the group here. ??? in the pic with CJ taking a picture is that Tom Otte in the background with jeans & leather jacket?
