carb slides

Post by guitardude081 »

I got the carb slides on the throttle cable, and now they won't seat against the stops. They sit about 1" above the stop screw. What could be causing this?

Jack,
Did you install the slides, lining up the guide pin with the groove cut in the side of the slides. Also, you may have guide the jet needle down into the needle jet as you install the slides.

It's in the groove. Everything goes right in until the spring, and slide are put together.

Jack,
Here are a few things to try:
-loosen the cable adjusters
-remove the jet needle (it could be bent)

Ck to see that the throttle cable isn't out of place at the throttle lever, sometimes they will pop out of the slot & will turn 1/4 turn in the throttle lever which keeps the throttle cable tighter than it should be.

The throttle lever is loose. It won't return all of the way. I'm going to putz with it after work.
