I have had enough of walbros. I have a 72 400 and it has never ran good with the walbro. It has been rebuilt, but like everyone else the walbros dont run. So, I have a 34mm mukini carb that I would like to try. Would anyone have any idea how to spec the carb out. Like what jets to use, and what else I would need to do it.

Time to switch carbs
I have a 34mm Mikuni on a 340/5
I started out with a 250 main, was way too rich. Dropped down to a 230, and then a 210. That is closer, I have a 200 on deck if needed.
I'm not sure what I have in it for a pilot jet, 25 maybe? I had this all doucumented on the old list, but of course that is gone.
This is WAY leaner than say what a 340/22 Cyclone motor ran. I'm thinking they ran 350 - 400 mains.
You may find your situation different, proceed carefully.
I'm thinking of putting a Walbro on it.

Hey thanks Brian......On the 76 Cyclone 340, according to my high performance book by john deere they ran a #370 on the main, pilot was a #20, the throttle was a 2.5, needle jet was a Q-0, and the jet needle was a 6FL14 on the #2 position. I will try your suggestion. :ph43r:

Well Brian I think I found the problem with my walbro. The meter lever was not set right. Now she works like she should. So long to the mikuni.

Glad to hear you found the problem. This stuff isn't magic, there is generally a solvable problem, just waiting to be found. If you can find it before you tear your hair out, your doing good
