I have a 80 liquifire that I took the carbs off to have them cleaned. The shop I took them to told me the carbs need to be jetted different and I have to make sure I put them back in the right spot, or it will burn my pistons. I had looked over the carbs before taking them in and the only thing I noticed different was the number stamped on the outside. One was a 121 the other was 122. Is this guy right about all of this. And what do I have to watch for putting them back on. I have read all the post about syncing them, just wondering about them belonging in a certain spot.
Thanks,

since it is liquid cooled there shouldnt be much of a diff. in temps between the 2 cylinders and jetting. i dont see why it would matter. im not positive tho. just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the answer. Now I have another question. What are the differences in the numbers that are stamped on them? Should there be a 121 and a 122 or should they both be the same?
Also if I were to just look for some other carbs what do I watch for?

There is a differance in the carbs, thats why the differant numbers. If jetted as stock from Deere the PTO carb Should have a 110 Power Jet & the Mag carb Should have a 105 Power Jet.
Now the big question is do you remember which one came off what side & did the Mechanic put the same jets back into the same carbs he took them out of??????

Yeah, that might be a problem. I picked up the sled last fall from a barn where it had sat for about 16 years. The carbs were setting next to the motor being used as a mouse house. I cleaned them up a little, put them on and that is as far as I got last year. After reading all the posts I figured I better get them cleaned good before trying to start it.
Any suggestions on getting them straight?
