I have drag raced both, and in my opinion, the Centurion is the way to go..These little Three bangers are explosive off the line and hard to run down..Modifying these engines is limitless..Super Lite but don't turn worth a s**t...... The old eltigres have a awsome top end if set up right..

Stock form the Centurion blows the Cat away. Had a Centurion new and have owned the cat used---can't beat that 3 cyl for torque and acceleration.

i envoy you on your find. i love my deeres but as you may have seen by my website i have a great love for early indy's i have been looking for an 81 500 indy for about 15 years and still haven't found one. i did however find the original 1980 txl indy that we raced and bought it hope to have it back to how it was when we raced it. since i have the original hood and seat. a good friend had a 1980 500 and drop it through the river. they fished it out and spent the whole summer rebuilding it into a indy was the only 80 500 indy ever sure would love to find that one.
