Im Sorry ok I dont want to blame Kenny for anything he has been a great help to me. Nope still using the Illegal. Milk is gone. Ok So today I started it up Supposed to get a big Storm Sunday Night.
I let the chokes down a couple of turns so i didnt break the lever and to make sure they were seated because I dont think they were last time. It ran pretty good Idled at 3000-4000. the clutch is spinning slightly but I think I have too many washers on the mounting bolt. They were the ones that came off the TR-800. It has a major bog. I pin it and it dies then pics up. Above 4000 it gets better. I had the throttle almost all the way and it only went to like 6000-6500. track was going probably 40 though. When its running when i lift the choke ever so slightly it pics up a little but not a lot. Its noticeable though. I tried to start it warm and nothing. I tried flipping to half pulling it once then shutting the choke and hitting the throttle. Pulled it and it started and idled up to were it should be. All the other times I try it hovers at 1500 and when I try to give it gas it just dies. Also is it supposed to sound pretty even with some underlaying pops. BOB

I got just a quick look, but if that's a Comet 102C, I think you might have the wrong washer under the clutch bolt head. A lock washer is typically under the bolt head, then the pilot washer, that's all.

I have what looks like two washers under there and thats letting the clutch rub the belt when it shouldn't. Ken I got it at Autozone for like 16 bucks. Bad thing is that its a 72 Capillary. Its Mechanical with a light. I wanted to try and Automatic one but wasnt sure if it would work. It works good though. Did the video help at all could you here the engine? Is the idle were it should be. Also any ideas as to when i try to restart it. Brian were can i get one of those washers. BOB

To me Bob you are about 800 RPMS too high. 3200 I have been told is dead nuts. Your restarting issue after motor is warm appears to be the exact same issue I have. My motor will start, it kinda chugs at about 1200 rpms and then you rap on the throttle once and it shoots back up to the proper idle speed.
Did you take that video on a digital camera or ??

Yes it was on a Digital Camera. The video Camera is only a tape one. The first video Iv taken with it. I think it works pretty good. When I go to rap the throttle it dies. Also it has a good bog at 4000 but wouldn't it get worse at 3200. I do agree it is a little high. BOB

Well, you have very similar problems like I have. Mine doesnt usually die, I do however have to feather the throttle on ocassion.
I would like to see you record this video again on a cold engine. Can you do this? I attempted to make a video also and I dont have large enough memory card in my camera.

Bob
I had the same problem with the 102C on my 340S.
I believe the pilot washer you need is: PN 204278 $12.50 @ Central Snowmobile
I'll attach a blueprint of the washer from Comet. If yours has the steps in it, take the stuff out from under it. It looks like it is sticking out of the clutch.

Well I had it going today doesn't want to stay running when its cold. Once it warms its fine. I shut it off and when I went to restart it will only hover at 2000 for ever unless you hit the throttle in which case it dies. It still has a wicked bog. I cant get it to restart and its pissing me off. Last year it would fire right up. Plugs. I check them after my littl run to temp and here is what I found. Mag was white with a burnt tip. PTO was brown with a burnt tip. Both tips were the same but the center electrodes were different. BOB

Bob, Are you sure the Mag side carb is working/jetted properly?? or that the PTO side isn't richer, sounds to me that your too lean on the mag side at any rate, ck to see what the top of the piston looks like, clean, a little dirty/oily, god forbid burnt??? I think I would make sure you find the problem & repair it before you put the sled in the snow & put the hammer to it, as it might/could be a costly mistake.
Maybe find out what Danzig is using for jetting & carb setup & set yours up exactly the same????
Kenny

I will check. Danzig might be higher in elevation then I am. Last time I checked the Heads weren't Leaking and the pistons were clean. How do I adjust the carb for this. Also I have the faulty oil Banjo on the PTO cylinder. There was an air bubble in the line and it wasn't moving when I had the Pump WOT. It was weird it was almost like at WOT it wouldn't smoke but when I closed it it would. BOB
