The Intresting deere on ebay has come to its new h

Well this is that sled many of us watched and talked about last week on ebay. I have named it Frankendeere I brought it home today and have some pics to share with you guys. From what I see so far it made out of atleast 4 different sleds whats cool is the person who did it must have had lots of deere parts because out of 4 different sled parts they are all deere havent found anything none deere yet but its dark out haha.

Heres what I think has happened here they started with a 78-9 trailfire the tprs have that gold tink which probably had a rotted tunnel. So the 76-7 liquifire was attached to the trailfire front clip and bulkhead as you can see they also tappered the tunnel. I beleive its still all trail suspension and track under it. The snoflap is courtesy of an x series sled. Now under the hood the trail pipe was modded to hook up to the cyclone motor which also carries a liquifire carb setup. You can see they also moved the headlight location and actually its not real bad body work this was needed to clear the engine. Even though somebody put alot of effort into this I dont know if they ever had it going since the engine is sitting in there on what looks like the cyclone motor plate and is only bolted in the rear not the front. I dont know though it seems like maybe they did run it also because after all the work on the hood it was painted the nice dull black color but the hood also has 2006 registration stickers on it. I doubt they woulda registered it if they couldnt ride it but maybe they planned to finish up on the mounts later who knows everything wiring cables etc is hooked up.

Ok thats what I figured out so far take a look at the pics and see if you can find parts from any other sleds HAHA.

pic9 I wish the guy I bought this from was the person who built it so we would know the whole story. Note: the white stuff on the bottom of the sled is imported from Auburn NY we dont have any of it here yet but we might tommorow.

Hey Nice sled. I actually like the tunnel gives it a edgy racer look. Hey I think it would be cool if you tore it all down cleaned it up and put it back together. How many sleds do you see like this. It would be something cool to go to shows with or just to ride. BOB

You know what BOB I am thinking right now something like what your saying. I think the tunnel is cool myself I want this motor for my 76 cyclone but I have a rebuilt 440 trailfire motor that I think in time [maybe real soon] will find a home in this sled i think thats the best bet since it is primarily a trailfire aside from the crazy hood and tunnel swap.

Can you post what jets are in those dual carbs? I have a similar setup going on and am having a hard time with jetting. Thanks

I nominated this machine for Deere of the month. With all the work that went into it, I'd have thought it would be a shoe-in.

I know the history on this sled. The guy worked for John Deere and decided to smuggle the parts out to build a sled, 1 piece at a time in his lunchbox. The larger items his buddy took out in his mobile home. Problem is, when they decided to put it all together one night all the holes didnt line up. Don't make the mistake of asking him what year it is, he'll go on forever.
