Power Jet Outlet Plastic Fitting

Post by jdfanmi »

I am getting ready to soak the carbs in carb cleaner and the cleaner says not use on plastic components. I looked through the tech manual and it does say to remove gaskets but that it is it. Will I damage the power jet outlet plastic fitting if I place the whole carburetor in the carb cleaner. Thanks again for the help

Power Jet Outlet Plastic Fitting

I am using Gunk (1 gallon w/ a basket). Another question. In the attached photo which jet is the main and the power jet. Is it the lower jet (barely visible in the photo) and the main a hex head in upper portion of photo? The lower jet is a 145 and the upper a 110. This is the carb from the PTO side. According to the Tech manual the power jet is a 110 and the main a 150. I am a little confused because the jets seem to be the reverse of what they are suppose to be.

the main jet is a hex head & the power jet is screw driver type.
follow the rubber hose from the main carb body to the float bowl & see which hole it leads to as that is the power jet..

It sounds to me that someone was trying to lean out 1/2 throttle by going as lean as a 110 main & then trying to fatten up the WOT by using a 145 power jet & the 110 main???
Not the way I would have done it but everyone has different ways of doing things..

THE PICS DESCRIBING THE MAIN AND PILOT JETS IN THE MANUAL ARE WRONG. LOCATION IS CORRECT IN THE PIC PER THE MANUAL BUT NOT THE NAME!!!!!!!!!!!
