Cool Deere jacket on Evil-Bay

Post by JoeRainville »

Hey Guys,

Check out this cool jacket on Evil Bay. Sort of looks like the ETD leathers from 75 in style. Maybe this is a 340/s coat?! I can't tell what material it's made out of either.

What do you guys think of this?

Well Joe it would need 2 more XXs before Id buy it. I dont beleive its leather based on the washing instructions probably nylon since it has to be damp to iron.

Hey Brian, if you land the jacket in the final moments Rainville will probably trade a 340/S sled cover for it!

Sweet jacket! I had placed a bid on it before I realized that Joe was bidding on it. I wouldn't have done that if I'd taken the time to check the previous budders ID's. I won't bid again. I bet this thing is gonna fetch a mighty high buck. Good luck to Joe and Brian.......try to keep it under a grand, eh? Wonder what a 92 Cougar jacket would go for?

Thanks for the input guys, well, at least sort of!

Rich: I have many of the Deere brochures from 73-84, and I can't find it in the 73, 75 or the 78-84 brochures. Some of them look close, but not quite right.

It's a style I've never seen before, and I did read the care instructions, so you guys are right, its probably nylon.

Lindner, if you do buy it, I am going to raise your prices on NOS parts, LOL! Seriouly though, it's an auction if someone really wants it. Heck I may not be able to spring for it since it's SnoCross season and the racers needs a cash infusion.

Maybe I will tell Cari that is what I really want for Christmas, good idea Kenny. The other bidder is being quite aggressive with me, so I may have to wait to snipe it at the last minute.

Thanks,
-Joe Rainville

Forget the last reply. That jacket really had me thinking like I know this jacket. I wore on on the photo trip for the Cyclone in Chama, New Mexico. If ane one can remember the TV commercial where Big John Stops the train from going over a washed out tressle. Santa really needs to bring me a new scanner as I have only a couple of pics to show right now. Thats me in the pics. Still looking for the commercials, I know they are out there somewhere in tape.
