If it's a hewtech, then it will have a smallish box with two bundles of wires coming out of it..... And it will say Hewtech "FirePlug" CDI

If it's an original Prestolite, it will be a larger cubicle box with the wires coming out in a row and will say Prestolite on top.

Sorry, I think I confused everyone. What I have is an original Prestolite that came off of my Cyclone 440 #1. Only replaced it with a new one that looked nicer. This one has the wires for each coil, a 2 male/1female round connector, and a 1 male/1 female round connector. I'm pretty sure I replaced it with a new one from Cyclone Crazy aka Mn Vintage Snowmobile. Don

JD part # AM54169, cdi box with round plugs is the same for both the cyclone and liquifire series engines. The 76 and early 77 series engines used a retangle plug, but you can splice the new round style cdi box to those applications.

Huston14 here's a deal for you. I just got a CDI box that has the wires cut off......duh. It could be used by wiring your ends on. You can have it free if you pay freight. Just need an address to get you a price. Don

Follow this chart and match up the colors from the square plug tp the round. Cut wires of the old cdi box connector about 6 inches from the connector, splice the new cdi wires into those following the chart.
http://www.hewtechelectronics.com/images/FIREPLUG_WIRING.pdf
slide on srinkwrap before crimping butt connectors, then heat the srinkwrap over the connection.
