Picked this up today over by Ann Arbor. Gave $150 for it. Has electric start and heated grips. Needs carb cleaned and some new fuel and an idler wheel. Anyone know how the backrest is supposed to attach, as this one just sits on there right now?

I also got the operators, parts and all the technical manuals too! One question I have is that since it's oil injected, would it be a good idea to use some premix as well until I know the injection is working properly?

I was looking through the manuals and I found an interesting letter. It was from Polaris and dated September 7, 1984. It talked about John Deere discontinuing the snowmobile line and that Polaris would be supplying Deere parts. Says in the letter that they hauled over 60 semi loads of parts to Minneapolis!

what years did the back rest come on. i have an 81 trailfire lx. i've never seen one with one on it.
