Holy crap what a haul! Don't worry about the pictures, I'll just come over and pick up all the sleds and take pictures here and post them for you. Oh... and by the way I'm Mike Hunt and I take pictures for Sno-pro magazine, so your sleds are safe with me. Especially that Dator. :ph43r:

Try shrinking your pictures first.

That has to be the find of the year for 2008! So technically we have found a $50 Liquidator.

This is an awful good start to 2008, I just hope I'm not using all of my luck up for the rest of the year!

I'm in Ohio. This did not work as I had planned, but here is a link to some pics of the dator www.msnusers.com/jdsleds. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I'll try to get the pics on here.

Thanks Dator76! I'll assume that your other dators have the stock motor in them? Is the 340 dator motor a mean runner?

they pull very hard, lots of torque high in the power band a dator motor has about 65 hp same as a 440 liquifire. but a 440 liquifire motor is more of a work horse with a wide powerband throughout the entire rpm range while the dator motor is a more narrow band with a lot more torque in the narrow area high in the rpm range

this is one of the reasons the liquifire motor is a more rideable unit, and a race motor likes more attention...

the motor in that dator is the stock motor i cant find a pic of the one with the liquifire motor but ill try to take one tomorrow. the way to tell is by the hump on top of the head hump=liquifire.l
Thanks,
Ted

Yeah, I could see where the trail motor would be friendlier then the race motor. Dator76, do the 77&78 liquifire motors have the same belt driven water pumps as the 76 dator and liquifires?

Jag,

The 76-78 LF use the same water pump. The Dator has it's own unique unit with a different pully and housing.

Rich,

My 2nd Dator came with a stock 440 LF motor and 78 heat exchanger already mounted in it. I kept the parts in case I ever want to make a rider. I do have a Dator motor for it now, but the darn sled really needs a total resto.

When I first saw the 78 heat exchanger, I thought it was kind of a hack. Come find out years later it was acutally a pretty good idea...

Later Liquidator,
-Rainville

PS: Ted, nice to see you are still around and still with us...

Thanks,
Ted
