Anybody know anything about 72'&73' Sno Jet 440 SSTs, the 72 has the "Y" disignation[??????] not sure what that even means. Both have slide rail suspensions and have been stored inside, not run for over 10 years, Yamaha motors. The 72' has the Y mototr which the owner said was much faster than the 73' without.
Thanks, Bill

According to Blake Reed's website the Y motor is the stock version and the S is the high output.
So if that is right then there must have been something wrong with this guy's S motor as it should have run circles around the Y sled.

The way I read the spec chart Y motor had 30 HP and the S had 37 HP.

Maybe I got it backwards, as I know little about Yamaha stuff. I don't think it's the GYT set-up, no tuned exhaust, and just a single carb. He owned them both from new,and raced the older one, still has numbers on it, and it's a little banged up. The 73' is in excellent stock condition.
