Does anyone know what the range of serial numbers was for the factory c/c's? I was also wondering what the difference was from the l/f. Suspension? Heads? Tuned exhaust perhaps?

Dave,

The 78 340 CC S/N range from 80,751 to 80,925. The sled was based on the production 78 LF 340 with these exceptions:

More restrictive exhaust manifold since the motor made 47 hp, and the rules were limited to 45.
Rubber Yohoma track like the 80's LF, but with 121" length and 3.29 drive lug pitch like the Dator, and eventually the 80 LF used.
Longer travel rear suspension, simular to what ended up on the 80 LF.
"W" wieghts in the Comet 102-C

Other than that, she was a stock Liquifire, including the production motor, exhaust and clutches.

Joe, there was no decal difference?
So at a distance you can not tell if it is a CC model correct.
I will be looking for one of these....
