1978 Cross Country Liquifire Craigslist

Post by ChickenRat »

I did my usual circle of checking today when I checked the local Craigslist ads. Here in the Minneapolis area there was a '77 Liquifire 440 and a '78 Cross Country Liquifire for sale both together for $200 obo. I saw the ad 10 minutes after it was posted, called the guy and he said someone was already on the way but was more interested in the 440 (yeah, right) and if he just wanted the 440, I could have the 340. Got called back 10" later saying they were both gone. He promptly pulled down the ad. Just wondering if anyone on the site got lucky? Who ever it was got one heck of a deal as the pics of the sleds were pretty nice.

Unfortunately it was the real deal and somebody made out like a bandit. Would be nice if it was someone from this site and not a flipper.

Well guys, its wasn't a misprint. They were only 5 minutes from my work and I could pass them up. The 78 has a rubber track on it, I thought they had a 2/3 cleated track. Anyway, I will give them a good home in my collection.

Good find.

I found an 84 sportfire on Craigslist a year ago for $100. I told him i'd take it sight unseen and wire grammed him the money so he wouldnt be tempted to sell it to someone who had cash in hand as I lived about 300 miles away.

Here is a picture from the day I got back home with it 1 week later.
