Liquifire motor in a Liquidator

I haven't been able to find a Liquidator motor yet, but I have a 76 Liquifire motor that I have been thinking of putting in my Dator. While I was at it, I was thinking of getting it bored and ported. Would these mods make any difference or would I just be wasting my money?

good idea, that motor and parts for it are as rare as hens teeth. this will give you a chance to ride it without worrying, about the engine at least.

Yeah I know! I was just wondering if a port and bore job would be worth it, or if I would be better off running the stock 440.

I would keep it stock. A bore job is only used to correct worn cylinder walls. Even if it was bored out to 0.040( the largest oversize), the horsepower gains would be minimal. Porting should only be left to the experts and will be costly.
Freshen up the motor(check bore, hone cylinder, re-ring) . If you have the dator exhuast pipes, that would make a difference from the stock liquifire exhaust.

I personally wouldn't mind having a Liquidator chassis with a Liquifire motor in it. No worries to drive, parts are easy to find, & 99% of the world would never know anyway. Keep it simple and you won't be disappointed.....

If you use the dator pipes, you will have to cut them to make them fit ....... Not worth that in my opinion .......

afponiky I still have that cyclone chassis, it is a great candidate for a Liquidator motor. After you talked Rob down on the Sprint you got way to good of a deal to let that go. You got it less than what he paid for it. TASKY
