440 air jet
Anyone know if the 440 79 trailfire used an air jet? How about the 79 sportfire? I dont know what the difference was between the TA440A,[trailfire],or the TA440B [sportfire]. If the sportfire used a single carb, I would think both either used an air jet or not. Thanks Jon

First, there was no Sportfire in 1979. "Air jet", what are you refering to? Power jet carb, one of the jets in the carbs, air box, ????

Referring to the carb air jet.Intertec service manual states in 79 the following sleds were made, spitfire, trailfires 340-440, sportfire, liquifire 440. If this manual is right, Deere would of had the 34m mikuni in the sportfire. I know my 79 34m carb trailfire is not a power jet carb.

Scratch the intertec info , it cant be right. What im doing is installing my 34m mikuni carb back on the 79 440 trailfire. Id hate to have a burn down IF this sled used a air jet. Am aware not all carbs used an air jet, This trailfire at the time has no air jet.
