UPS - Ever Wonder Why They Charge So Much?

Post by Deere Daze »

Im sure Im not the only one who has seen this, I have bought a few items for a project of mine. 3 diff. shipments, all by UPS.Now,I may not be the smartest guy in the world, but I do think it is easier and cheaper to import the same package into a country only once...Oh, and maybe I should also say, this is the 2nd out of three shipments this week i have seen this...

In the Midwest Spee-Dee is the best for large, bulky or heavy items.

Items like hoods is not an issue with them.
And they take engines without a hassle.

I've seen SpeeDee mentioned before here but there's no such thing in Indiana that I'm aware of. Don

I know Spee-Dee is in MI and IL so I would have to think they are in IN as they drive though it.

I also us the Postal service. Priority mail will usually get there in 2 days at a fraction of the Cost of UPS. Ups doesn't seem to want the residential business anymore--Only the Business to Business!!!!!!!!

I love UPS as they have an outragious brokerage fee for bringing items into Canada. In the past I have bought small items from US suppliers totaling maybe 5 to 10 dollars only to get a bill for $50 from UPS to cover their brokerage fees. (This is above the prepayed shipping) Fedex is another offender. At least with the US postal service there are no surprises when the items arrive in Canada. Of course you may need to pay the GST on the value of the shipped goods.

I once shipped two flowmaster mufflers to a fellow in Texas.. after paying for shipping and packaging it was around $70 dollars just to ship them.
