Help on carb!!!
I wouldn't say they look like your pictures. I can take some tomorrow and post. They are actually small grooves. The mag side is just in one area but the pto side has them all they way around the cylinder going vertical if this makes sense.

I seem to be missing something here. Why didn't you replace the pick-up (check-ball/screen) with new? It is there to eliminate fuel back-feed and having to pull...pull...pull to start.
This part would still be on the Fire Series sleds and is also still available from Deere or aftermarket.

I plan on replacing it, it was a back woods mechanic trouble shooting method.

Does this sled have the switch in the throttle handle that shuts down the ignition when the throttle slide stays open and the throttle is released. If so that might explain why it starts with the throttle raised. Peter

It doesn't show that in the wiring schematic--only shows the rev limiter and I don't believe it is tied into the throttle in any way. I know the later Liquifires are tied into the throttle.

Do you know if these cylinders are chromed so if bored they need to be rechromed??
Help on carb!!!
Rechroming is not needed but you will have to use different rings, if they are available.
Used cylinders are available and new pistons also.
Update... forgot to mention the sleeves, but they may not be available anymore as was mentioned.

Those are chrome cylinders. If you bored them, you'd need to have steel liners installed....and I doubt they are available. You could likely send them away to get replated. Try looking for some good used ones first as there should be lots of Snowfires/Spitfires kicking around that are retired due to track problems and still have perfectly good engines. The 1980 Kawasaki Drifter F/A also used the same engine
