Very, very nice Spitfire! Was it a complete restoration? If so post some pictures of the progress.

Thank you Jack ,I am really excited about this sled.It is not a full restoration it was torn completely down to each part #.Bearing,Shafts replaced ,everything repainted, bolts replaced, cleaned.I did not replace the seat cover which has 2 small cracks in the very back ,NOS covers are to hard to find.I did not refinish the tunnel or belly pan it has only a few scratches and the only dings were on the ridges on the very bottom of the belly pan.We rode this sled alot this winter.after a few more winters I may refinish the chassis ,If I can find NOS decals.I have a few pics of this sled when I bought it,But I did not take any disassembled pics.I just jumped in with both feet and stripped it down one saturday. It is not a perfect show sled, but I will say I am happy how it turned out! Thanks for this great site and all the great fella's who frequent it.

:)

P.S.Rich you were right about the reflective stripe, it really POPS out at you!!
I will be getting my shop organized for Project #2.

You have a sled to be very proud of! Enjoy it if you still have snow? If not just stare at it in the garage.

Thanks for all your compliments,It means alot ,that you guys think it looks nice.I bought this sled for my son ,thats how I became involved with Deere sleds.I had always wanted a green spitfire and what better sled for a kid (or an adult ) is there that a simple ,fun ,eye catching spitfire. This is his and I won't be parting with it.Now I am going do a sled for me to ride.I have to say (and this is coming from a former speed freak)I had more fun this winter riding around the farm with this spitfire, than I ever had while racing or doing thousands of miles a year on new stuff. So I think ,I am here to stay, the only question is where do you store the 20 Deere sleds you can buy for the price of 1 new one?

:D

Thanks Again

----Mike

P.S.Sorry the enlarged pics are so blury.I have a good camera but I think I need to find the setting on it that is just below 200k.Any tips let me know
