Ahhh, the sickness has begun. Another one infected........... You'll have to step up to a rack system so you can start to stack them. Then I put my racks on wheels so they are easy to move around.

Would there not be some stability issues with having the racks on wheels. I tried to build racks but I got one sled on the top and then the space filled in with parts.

I would suppose it would depend on how they are constructed and gauge of the metals used. My racks are very stable and I have some heavy sleds on them. The addition of the wheels makes it so easy to move around the racks and get to the sleds you want to get to. I was able to find my racks used and at a very reasonable price as well.

79Spit,
Again, nice job on the Spitfire. I think I may end up mechanically rebuilding one for my newfew soon. A Z-120 is over 2 grand, so I think a Spit would be a better choice since my sister has 3 kids. The oldest loves riding with me, so I think he would get a lot of use out of it. And, they live right off the Vermont VAST system.
Used pallet racking can be purchased quiet reasonably. I have about 6 lengths of it up in my little barn. I kept the shelves at 36 - 40" tall, so you have to remove the windshields to rack them. But with a 9 foot ceiling, that gave me a 2' top shelf to store chassis and hoods. This is the only way I could store 25-35 sleds at my place, as my current barn is only 24' X 44', but two stories.
I hope this helps,

Here's a question did you lift the sleds onto the second and third shelves or did you use a tractor?

Hi Guys,
I used man power to lift them. I did the Snow and Sprint by myself (not shown, they are to the left of the pic), but had help with most of the rest of them. They 78 Cyclone chassis was the hardest, as it still had a hood and bars on it. Tight fit, but it made it.
Mike,
Would be cool to see another collection like that. I have only original sleds, but I am starting a resto this year. Only a few doubles, such as the racers and a pair of 84 Liquifires, and I have about 6 or 8 parts sleds out behind the barn.
Later Liquidator,
