plasma cutter
I'm thinking about attempting a project this summer which will require a fair bit of intricate metal cutting and it would appear a plasma cutter would be the best thing to get the job done. I really don't want to dump $1500.00 into a name brand one and am considering one of the chinese built CUT 40 machines on ebay. They seem to sell for around $350-$400 most of the time. Has anybody in here purchased one of these rigs? And if so, is it a complete piece of junk.....or would it suffice for occaissional use?

I have a plasma cutter that i use at school. There awsome and really easy to learn on. makes beautiful cuts also. you can make alot of nice stuff with one of those. i say buy one.

i've never heard of them, but i've been burt a couple of times buying the cheap stuff thinking it will do what want. it might be great for a few cuts but not make it for a lot of work. then you wouldn't be able to find parts when you need them.

I sell cheap ones at work!.... Harborfreight tools..... like $600 and they work fine... If it were me... i would buy one from ebay.... as there cant be that much of a difference between the stuff we sell and that stuff... all made in the same place!
