T-cat piston

Post by Danzig »

Guys-

Look at the pic provided, look at the right side piston and tell me what the issue is with the rings in this pic. I am not saying there is an issue, but does something look wrong?

Appears the rings could be stuck. Did it run hot?

Not my pistons, they are for sale on e-bay. Just curious on your thoughts. These pistons and rings are not cheap when purchased new. Just looking for some opions. I am told they have very low miles on them and this sled was torn apart due to a stator going bad so it was stripped and well here is the pistons up for sale.

It may be a bargin even if only two pistons are good.

I can understand parting a T-Cat out due to a bad stator. A friend had his stator smoke a couple of years ago and Cat charged him $610 plus installation.

I bought two used 700 pistons on ebay once. Seller said one was bad and I was the only bidder so I got them for $10. Only need one so I came out fine.

Danzig, talk to Pete(liquifire4/6). I think those are his. He used t-cat front end on the groomer he is building and they are listed from Roblin, Manitoba which is home base for him. He would be able to tell you what you want to know. Let me know if you need his e-mail or phone number.

I dont think it's Pete. This seller did know whether they were stock pistons or Wiseco's. He goes by John. I have 6 more pics sent to me today and I think I may have ticked him off..

Hey Paul....you are right, they are not mine. However, they more than likely came from the same sled I got my bulkhead from because I bought the bulkhead from John. He lives about 15 miles southwest of me. I went to school with him. You say you mighta ticked him off? How'd you do that? Actually, John can be a wee bit snide if you get him revved up, but he's a pretty straight shooter and tells it like it is. I don't think he'd BS you about the condition. Tell him I put in a good word for him!
