what did this engine come stock in I have an 74 jdx8 with this engine in it and am trying to get the right freakin points for it

The 74 JDX8 would have a 440/22 reed valve eng in it. The 74 and up 500 and 600 used the 440/5 which is piston ported

According to the SM the 440/5 should have a Denso magneto. It looks like that Denso was also used in the reed valve eng used in the JDX8 so maybe they use the same points? Hope this helps

The flywheel may be marked "ND" ( nippondenso )
Also, I believe the Denso flywheel will have the magnets embedded in the ring.
The Kokusan flywheel looks like the magnets are stuck on inside the rim.

funny thing my 73 x8 has the same incorrect engine installed the green motor mount is a big give away lol
