Losing keys

Post by JDXsand00s »

Has anyone ever lost the key out of the ignition from the snowmobile they are driving? I lost one earlier this year but found it under the carb but now i lost another in a different with a nice key ring from waterloo works and i'm kinda disappointed. I get home and the key is just gone, its a good thing you can turn the ignition with anything, i tunred it on with a screwdriver once and pretty much any key ever.

Deere dealers still have the snowmobile keys, they are the same for any deere sled without electric start.

I just unplug the key switch from the back. Always starts right up. Tasky

Hey JDXsand00s, The key for my Toro S-200 snowblower (the spade type) works in my 80 sportfire. Just a thought...

There are two different types of keys. The early models use the same type of key used on the current JD LX/GT/GX garden tractors. Does not matter if electric start or not. The later models use the generic spade type key.
