ETD Get Together

Post by deere memorabilia »

Do the appearance of the world famous John Deere Joe Rainville, many members of ETD where drawn to my garage. After all in attendance were treated with a personally autographed 340/s belt signed by Joe, mine is going on the wall in my living room!!!!!!! Many stories were told throughout the night.

Man that showing was awsome. We had such a great time. These guys are down to earth and are willing to share anything in person. I didnt get a 340/s belt because I already have 2 dozen. Besides, who wants John Deere Joe's signature?

It was a pretty good time, The only thing that I was dissapointed in was that Charlie ( the Dog)did not get a signed belt from John Deere Joe, I thought that Joe was a better person than that.........

Guys, it's hard to be "John Deere Joe" with the real ETD mechanics and racers here. Wow, was I honored to meet Craig Knudsen, Joel Holquest, Larry Jenc, Terry Norgard, Jerome Kretzman (sent Jermome home with two 340/s cranks to rebuild), Doug Oster (met at the HOF 2 years back) and the funny as hell Steve Tabor (with a very odd sence of humor).

Les Pinz of Scorpion fame and Tim McPherson of Team Frustration also shared stories.

The stories of back in the day were a riot. Jesse is a jerk, but a good host and even lets me post smack about him from his own PC. Wow is his wifes friend is cute too. Had to brake it to her that I am spoken for, trying to get Kudla to step up at 3:05 A friggin M. Man does he not take a hint well.

I hope after rubbing elbows with the ETD Mechanics I am now smart enough not to grenade my Dator motor after I rebuild one of them. Check the ring end gap I think was the secret.

So far the high bid on a signed 340/s belt is $0.43. I gave them out as Door prizes, but the guys were charging me to take them.

Tabor told the funniest stories about his ETD and Cat Days. Good to hear Doug is still racing CC into his 50's. Very impressive!

Page members including the Comandant of the Evil Hiens Clan, Jack Durrand, Dustin Ericson, and I think I saw Ramon passed out in the bathroom. Darn cheap beer, Jesse should know better. Chuck stopped by to rub in the fact that he has the best luck of any Deere collector on the planet and brought along JRC's CC chassis to show. Craig was here too to BS with us, nice guy. Jesse could learn from that....

Later Liquidator!

It was a great time. Chuck was showing off his collection. He has a 340/s that I would have no problem eating off of. It was a great time listening to all of the stories. It seems that Jesse has learned a lot of tricks from these guys about how to fit a 295/s almost anywhere.....like in his downstairs living room. Jesse's collection is one of the best that I've ever seen. It was good to finally meet all of the famous faces that we hear so much about. It was also good to share half of my dinner with Charlie the spoiled dog. Hopefully the hall of fame ride will have this kindof turn out.

Thanks Jesse, it was really cool listening to all the stories and meeting all you guys. Seeing your collection and projects definately got me motivated and maybe that will transfer into some progress on my own projects. Thanks again.

Thanks to everybody that scratched my butt and fed me pizza scraps. Had a great time chewing on the 340/s belts and whizzing on John Deere Joe,s truck tires. "Now thatis my kind of fun " . Woof

Jesse and Anna: Thanks for the great job of hosting the gathering last night. I felt it was time for me to leave when Rainville started making some innapropriate advances towards Charlie. Really was uncomfortable, and even more shocking considering his recent nuptials. I guess that's the way they roll out east. Thanks again to everbody that was at the Babblers last night, I really enjoyed myself. It was very nice to meet Jesse's parents and have a chance to find out what nice folks they are. If anyone talks to Rainville let him know that what happens in Minnesota stays in Minnesota.

I really don't like Rainville, I'm just using him for free trips west. He pays me to act like I'm his friend.

Thanks to everyone who showed up. I had a great time. Hopefully next time we will have more time to plan and more people can be included. This all started with Steve Tabor and Doug Oster coming to talk to Rainville about his Cat prototype and with a few phone calls it turned into large group. Not to bad for less then a weeks notice. Thanks Steve for helping put this together. Jesse
