I have a 77 340 LF that starts easy and idles great but, as soon as i give it throtle it boogs down and spits back through the carbs. I've soaked/cleaned the carbs 3 times and have also gone through the fuel pump. I'm sure it's getting enough fuel because the plugs always seem to be wet. I also pulled the exhaust off and it made no difference. The air box is off if that makes any difference.
Any help would be great.

Have you checked your float level? Have you replaced your jets or taken them out? To me it sounds like its getting to much fuel. It sounds like the idle circuit is working. Also check your choke. It may still be on even thu it shouldnt be. I had mine sticking and it caused one heck of a bog down low. Ended up replacing the ends of the cables and fixed my problem.

Thanks, I'll check the chokes again to be sure but, they seem to be working fine. I didn't replace any parts in the carbs, I just disasembled everything , soaked all the parts overnight and cleaned them before re-assembly. There was a LOT of crap in the carbs when I started so I guess it's possible that things are still pluged but, I've already soaked them 3 times.

Update to this thread. I talked to Matt and the spark goes haywire and then gone at about 2800 rpms. but below that it works. we pretty much think the high windings are gone. will be cking the stator ohms next.
