1974 eltigre timeing

Post by big danno 1970 »

I am working on a 1974 Arctic cat eltigre 440. I just did the crank seals and was wondering if the timeing proceedier might be the same as the new breed of deeres. When I removed the flywheel I noticed that the stator was cranked all the way to the left and I dont think that would be correct. There is a factory timeing mark on the stator so I lined that up with the split in the cases like the new deeres.
The motor is a T7A440RS1A.
Any thoughts?
Thank you

Danno, My Tigre Service Manual says the timing should be ( Dynamic timing ) 17 deg BTC @ 6000 RPM or ( Static Timing ) alien the timing marks.
