2009 Ride with the Champs & Horicon Reunion

Post by WinnipegStPaul9 »

This morning I spoke with Lynn from the Whitetail Lodge in St. Germain and she assures me that they still have rooms available. Bob and I stayed there this year and have reservations for next year as it's a beautiful place and very, very nicely located for the HOF. Also, it is located across the street from the 19th Hole Restaurant and owned (but not managed by the same company)

Here are the details that I got from Lynn today:

Rate for a room with two queen size beds (double occupancy) is $115.51 which is all inclusive with taxes etc already figured. When the original date for the ride was 2/14, the Whitetail Lodge had a three night minumum because it's a holiday weekend. The new date is not a holiday weekend and there is no three night minimum.

Their cancellation policy is: More than 2 weeks prior to arrival there is a $15.00 charge. Cancellation less than 2 weeks from arrival has a one night deposit charge.

Their telephone number is 1-800-236-0460 and their website address is www.whitetaillodge.com

I realize that the rates probably exceed those in Eagle River but it's really convenient and of course a lot more fun if a bunch of us stay there.

Hey Don,

I am quite sure the NY Posse (and token Canadian Greg Shubaluckabalook) will be happy to join you at the 19th hole for dinner. I had a great time there last year and riding to ER with the guys afterward. It wasn't until the morning that it got ugly. I will probably refrain from there fish fry however. Funny, but I've had fish since and been fine, but crab legs have a simular reaction - bad!

After the wedding, I really need to get wrenching on my 340/s...

That's very nice little RV, hope it can come and play? Talked to Jerome today, he will ride with us and is starting to measure belts at present for 2 sleds, also would assume friend Tom Otte will attend and provide a few lessons on the proper technique to dominate ditchs with leaf springs...........more news following! Ups, Loren will be unhappy with me as I continue to see this as a...............................................event? JRC

Have been reading with interest about the HOF ride and activities in Horicon the day before. I have not been to Horicon since 340/s service school and that has been awhile. Bought a 82 Liquifire this summer with this ride in mind and working on cosmetic repair of the I-500 #42 Liquidator hood. Should I bring the Liquidator this distance? I guessing this group has seen plenty of them before. Anyway hope to meet many of you who post on this site. keith

Hi Keith, so were you in the I-500? JD really treated us nice at the service school didn't they? Don

Don,

I was 19 at the time of that trip to Horicon. Your right, Deere took very good care of us. Remember the bus ride to that country club for dinner and drinks? How about the photo shoot all the drivers had, sitting on that sparkling new 340/s. That is the nice thing about this form, comments like yours shake loose some of my long unused brain cells. keith

Yes, the plan is to wrap it up early enough so that those of us going up to St. Germain can get there at a reasonable time Friday night.
