I may have found one of these anyone tell me more about it?

Should be marked on the fan housing, With a metal tag, fan cooled, piston ported, CDI ignition, twin carbs, Y pipe exhaust.

The serial number is stamped in the lower case half along with tag on the fan shroud. Make sure these numbers match as some may have swapped the fan tower at one time or another. Also you may want to pull the cluth and inspect the nose of the crank. If you find the nose is red it was a dyno tested ETD engine. Here are a few pictures of mine.

Are they rare at all ? The guy who has it says its a very rare slde.

They sure aren't common. If you can get it better snag it. They were used in the '75 340/S race sled.

If you can send us some pics & we'll verify, also the 295/S motor will almost look Identical

Hard to imagine any "prototype" RS/2's made it to Maine though. Most would be in an area around Horicon don't you think? DA

I also found a 340 rs/2 motor a couple of years back here in new england , now if I only could find a chassis too....
