My Grandfather had the farm, My dad has always worked with farmers. He worked many years for FHA. He was also a professional photographer and worked promoting the Maine potato board. Ive been going through his pictures and found these.

IC, it is always interesting to see how things used to be done, I am an engineer on the Lockwood potato harvester, thats why I asked.

Thanks Wycrumb...my family raised spuds for 25+ years in southern MN (Hollandale). Had several pieces of Lockwood equipment: harvester, truck boxes, various conveyers...all quality products. Dropped the spuds a few years back due to the closure of the local co-op.

I thought that sounded like Burl Ives singin' there... There is an old indian proverb that basically says "Only after the last tree has fallen, the last bird soars, and the last fish swims will man realise that money cannot be eaten!" I ate today and thank you to the farmer...

Thats Dick Curless from Fort Fairfield Maine. Which it about 15 miles from my house.
