Frankie I just looked it up. It was used in a 1975 El tigre. Not the Z but the regular one.

Kenny,,Todd. The A does not appear to be hand stamped..It does have a oversize case on it and the rewind is larger than normal.Never took a compression check, but seems to be more than plenty..Rolls over freely with plugs out,but pulls over like our race motors with them in.. Might be why it has the oversize rewind??? Has some tiny 30mm mikunis if not smaller.. I will try and get some pics of it.. Kenny..There is a guy from Kansas city that might be interested in it..He bought my 80 El/tigre and some other free air stuff..He has picked up some old Lynx's,, cheetahs from me as well..His name is Ken Martin if that rings a bell to anyone..He will be here sometime before Xmas.. Frankie

T1 case engines use C in 74. T7 case engines like you have had an A in 73, B in 74, and C in 75. T7 cases were larger that the T1 based engines.

I am not sure what the hand stamped letter at the end means but it is seen once in a while. Maybe some testing was done on it before shipping? Never seen it on Deere's, only older Cats.
