1980 liquifire

Post by xcr800 »

Hi my buddy just picked up a 1980 liquifire and there's alot of gummy stuff in the bottom of tank after dumping out the old gas. Is there anything we could use to clean out this tank.

Pinesol works good but it takes a couple of days. Just put enough in to cover the bottom of the tank, swish it aruond every once in a while and when you think it is clean rinse it out with hot water and let dry. Like I said it does take a couple of days but it does work, also works on carbs but it does tarnish the jets and other brass parts.

Doesn't that have a Kawasaki motor in it?

Great advice. I just took my tank off
 , I couldn't believe the color of the gas I dumped out. The Pinesol turned into a nice milky substance, but it smells nice lol. I'm sure I'll be happy I did this even though it's was a pain. Now I need to fix the plywood in the seat.
