Registration Questions
I need to get a couple of my newly acquired sleds registered, but I am not sure what I need to do to do so. My cyclone was last registered to my father, so I am good there, but my JDX4 and my two Liquifires I bought last year, and do not have the last owners registration or anything, and I do not believe the last owners had them registered, so contacting them would probably not turn anything up. Who do I need to contact, or what paperwork do I need to fill out to get these sleds registered? Thanks.

Registration Questions
Laws vary from state to state so call the courthouse or local depart of natural resources and they'll get you started. You might even find you can get all the info and forms you need online. I know here in Iowa for the two older sleds I have, I need to submit the numbers off of them to the courthouse, they'll find the last registered owner's info. Then I can contact them to sign it over and it's a done deal. If the last registered owner is unavailable I "think" there is a time period that passes or you just have to show proof that you tried contacting them to no avail...not quite sure.
Registration Questions
Been there and done that. All you really need is a bill of sale. Which can be drawn up pretty easily.. You could have purchased it from your best friend for $10 for all the DNR knows....
Ive sent them in with no previous registration numbers listed (or cards) with no problems. Just print off the forms from the IL DNR site. Fill those out...enclose your $18 check with a bill of sale and you will be set!
Speaking of registration I need to get my Cyclone registerd for this year....

Registration Questions
In WI, you just go to your DNR office.
Give them the serial number, and they will want to know what you paid for it.
If you are lucky the SN won't come up as stolen, and you'll pay the money and be good to go.

Registration Questions
So when I get to the part that wants the previous owner's information... I could just put down my 'friends' information, and then just include the check and id be ok?

Registration Questions
Ive done that in the past with no problems....In my experience with registering these older sleds they are pretty lenient. Print off the forms from the DNR site send in the forms with as much info as you have. You should be good to go.
Ive also gone through Title and Loan places. (not worth it) They just charge your extra to do the same thing.
On your bill of sale you should have all of your information, the sellers information (name, address, city, etc), sled information, along with purchased price, engine and sled vin.
Then have it signed and dated with both signatures.
I got a bill of sale form from the Title and Loan place that I use.
Good Luck!
