found this about an hour away and snagged for $ 200.00. great condition, hood scratched but in one piece, engine will need rebuild has only 80 lbs on mag side, 125 on clutch side. check out the sticker i found on the side of the hood. Any body know about this. Has sticker of original selling dealer ( Anchor Home Center ) Silvis IL. I will post pics tomorrow. Cant take in the dark. This also has dual carbs. Dont know if they originally had this setup. Im excited with this find.

Anchor Home Center was my "dealer sponsor" in 1974, I had some sleds in Moline, can you post some pictures, I also know of a 295/s that ran from Moline in the 1975 Winnepeg. Certainly would like to see the engine and tunnel SN's.....not sure it is a "600"

Kenny, what year are you referring to? My numbers from 73,74 or 75 never had tops like that picture. DA

Lee Hardesty (Deeres racing engine manager) built a 440 mod motor "fan cooled" for me that I left in Moline back in the day! Can you shoot a picture of the exhaust. How it may have gotten into a 600 would a story. JRC

If I had to venture a guess, looks like someone adapted 295-340/s intake manifolds and dual Mik's onto the 440/5 motor. I bet she is the fastest 600 around if those carbs are set up properly.

Nice find, and good luck with motor work.

Any chance it was a "pit sled" for the races, or maybe a spectator?

PS: Didn't see JRC's above post. Would be very cool if it was done at the factory!

Don, I don't know that Chuck might, I was just looking at the jagged edge as you can just start to see the top of the number?? at least that is what I thought I was looking at??
