a friend asked me about his xlt, its a tripple, if it sits at all at an angle it will flood,
im thinking the floats in the carb?? any help would be great thanks

That's where I'd start.. Then I'd look at how low he has it Idling??

just worked on a junk Polaris a couple weeks ago...set the idle about 1500

All Mikuni carbs set the float the same way, with carb upside down float arm should be parallel with the carb.. if they are still leaking because of the angle of the carb then the tip of the float arm should be just a bit above parallel.
If the Idle specs are suppose to be say 2000 to 2500 RPM then I would raise the Idle to 2500 to 3000 RPM.. & so on..
Personally I like to see the Idle just below clutch engagement, ie: if the clutch engages at 4000 RPM I would set the idle at 3500 RPM on my own sled

That is true. That are prone to flooding when they break through the ice because they weigh so much.

I had a '95 XLT from 2001 until about 2 months ago, and it NEVER flooded. It would idle all day long.

Edit: Check that, it flooded once when I went off the side of a trail and ended up sitting sideways on about a 35 degree angle.

it shouldnt flood if you have it set right, everyone says shut off the gas but really you shouldnt have to unless on the trailer
