Help can u identify this sled

Post by PYRO_BUD »

I just received this sled form my wife's uncle, but cannot figure out what it is.
On the side of the hood it says ULTRA on the side of the tunnel it says 440 on the motor it says Kohler sn# 503050 displacement 436 cc

On the tunnel it says Vin# 605722 track # 761719 series V date of manufacture Oct of 75
Green hood, on the handle bars it has the engine temp for the left and right cylinders but it is air cooled and it also has the spedo and odometer a total of 2 gauges.
The carb says walbro corporation on the top, on the side is stamped WF-16 and the fuel pump is part of the carb on top.

So what is it?
I will try to get pics as soon as the snow and ice melt off of it.

Doesn't sound like a Deere. Probably a '76 Skiroule Ultra.

Pyro,

Although this is a dedicated John Deere snowmobile page, Matt did set up a forum near the bottom of the list for 'Other Brands' if you have any more question or concerns about your Skiroule.

Jay Carsley of retrosno.com and a member of vintagesleds.com also used to be a Skiroule dealer and has a large collection of them.
