Walbro Wdb Vs Wda

Post by DLDeere »

What is the difference between the Walbro WDB-31 that is in the JD 300 Kohler and the Walbro WDA-32 on the JD 400 CCW?

I see a venturi on the WDA-32 but any other difference?

Will one provide better performance than the other?

And finally, any problem using the WDA-32 from the 400 CCW on the Kohler engine?

I have the exact same 2 carbs, I'm going to try and get the wdb-31 carb going with parts from the wda-32.
I imagine there would jetting differences between the 2 since they are different motors. I think your 300 would run stupid rich with the WDA-32 carb

Hunter,
I've had the 300 running with the wda-32. Seems to be fine. I haven't had it on snow yet (we don't have any yet!) so it hasn't been on load, but I think it will be OK. I found out that the number is the size of the carb throat in millimeters. So the only difference in size is 1 mm. It fit fine on the 300 intake manifold.

I think the parts would be interchangeable, except the throttle and choke butterflies from the 32 may not fit into the 31.

venturi size is the biggest difference smaller engines 340 295 not a big performance gain. 400 - 440 go with the bigger opening to prevent starving. The walbro carb when working is actually a really good carb for trail running. wf carbs are a real pain but kinda neat in thier own way i have one somewhere.

How well would a WDA-6 work on a 1977 Kolher 300?
