I'm still working on my trailfire. I'm having trouble with loss of power and lights. Can anyone tell me could it be the generator. Where is the generator and how much voltage should it put out?

The is no generator on these. The coils are under the flywheel behind the recoil. You should have 12volts after it leaves the voltage regulator. Make sure your harness is pluged in and check the grounds.

79 Trailfires had a steel chassis and all grounds are prone to corrosion and loss of good connections.

Removed each ground (frame, tunnel, bulkhead) connection and wire brush the point of contact.

Problem may go away than.

Do not run the engine without a volatge regulator hooked up ar you will burn out all your bulbs.
