Mukuni Butterfly Carb Parts

Post by jdsledder »

I just picked up a 1980 Spitfire, the carb doesn't have a needle valve for the float, the gas runs out the overflow hoses while it runs. Does anyone have spare needle valve for the Mukuni butterfly carb, used would be fine. If not where can I get new parts for this carb. Thanks

Arctic cat Jags used that carb...as did some panteras...You might search for those too.

As for your needle, I think a needle from regular vm roundslide. might work.

No problem. I remember my first sled, a jag that had one.. Miserable pos carbs IMHO. I know the jet that screws in from the top likes to plug easy...I think they call it a "grose jet" you used to be able to get them from CSS. I had a spare one of those carbs kicking around somewhere...but I can't find it...might have ebayed it.
