Longest Ride on a John Deere

Well i just finished up a big ride this weekend. Went from Appleton all the way to the casino in Carter, but i took the long way there. About 225 miles there. Then this morning i rode back for a grand total of 350 miles and some change. Averaged in the high twenties for gas mileage as well. No problems at all.

Hi Gang!! I'm new here, but like the deere sleds. I use to own a couple of Spitfire's. My 78, was a pretty bulletproof machine, and in the late 80's, road it way over 100 miles, sometimes close to 200 miles a day, in the northern adirondack/champlain valley trails in northeastern, new york.

I am hoping to own a 80 LF in a couple of weeks, and plan on picking it up at the Waconia event. It will need some parts. Mainly a dash complete, and an airbox, as both are missing!!

Interesting the comments on not riding the old sleds far and being sore. I personaly really like riding the old sleds because it takes much more concentration and ability to ride them well. As far as distance goes and comfort....that is all a matter of your personal expectation, if you believe you will get pounded and it bothers you, it will! I've never had any problems going to bars and getting hasseled because of a green suit and sled, I just ask them to pick 20 miles of ditch and line em' up! The Ride for Hope story is awesome! Don't fear the distance on a old sled, enjoy the accomplishment of riding your passion. JRC

We went for a nice 15 mile ride on saturday with the Sprintfire and Liquifire. Sure got a lot of head turning. We were following a guy on a new stand up Ski-Doo Rev and I thought he was going to fall off turning around to look at us. :lol22:

Man that Rev looked cold to ride.

i put on another 227 miles this weekend, i'm now well over 1000 miles on the year.
