Polaris or any other brands suspension won't match the rail CtC.. Why do you want to change it??

I think if you make sure all the shafts are free and greased, the springs are good, and you run a gas shock, you will be pleased with the ride. I have a Kimpex gold on the LF now, it rides suprisingly great for an old sled. I had to install the spring tensioners from Image Ent. because I would bottom it out often. Image has oem gas shocks for the LF.

I have found that on a lot of vintage sleds the springs are fatigued. It is a like night and day if you put new springs on.

Deere also had heavy duty springs as an option and there are adapters that will stiffen up the rear like Ralphy sudjested.

And a newer rear shock with a coil over will work also.

My brother in law had a stockpile of parts, and this was included, still in the bag. The ## is 08-156. I had to put different bushings in the ends, and bolt it to the front arm, but it works great so far.

Bruham,

With a welder and a drill you can do anything. Should you is another point. I've seen Yami, Polaris and Cat suspensions and tracks stuffed under Liquifires with varing results.

First thing to consider is that Deere spent a lot of time making the Liquifire handle like it's on rails. Raising the back end to put a longer travel rear suspenion under it changes the caster angle of spindles, making the sled a darty, ill handling bitch.

Also note that you only have a 116" track vs. 121 for the Polaris, so you would need to change the track and drivers (3.29 vs. 2.52" pitch).

Really, with the low cost of a 10-15 year old IFS sled, I would say to just upgrade the complete machine or enjoy the Deere for what it was. Also, I totally support the idea of rebuilding your existing skid with a new shock and lube all the cross arms to get it working as good as new.

Remember that this is just my 2 cents.

Thx for your input I'll probably just upgrade the rear shocks and go through the susp. this summer.
