I am Going to call the guy tomorrow and go after it on Saturday if he still has it. He is asking $50.00 for it. He says it seems to have good compresion but no spark. Regaurdless of what model it is I think it is worth $50.00. If It was a 44O I might have found the piston I was looking for? Just wanted to see If I could get a heads up from you guys.

$50 and an hour of windsheld time is worth it if nothing else for trading stock or parts.

My Thoughts Exactly, I Notice how you guys allways helping each other out with trading parts. My problem is I don't have much in invitory.... Yet. I just spoke with the guy and it seems the Model tag must be gone. He don't recall seeing it where it should be. I am going to pick it up Saturday Morning.

Can't tell much from the outside. KEC340 or 440, maybe /4, /5. Should be some green on the motor mount if it was in a Deere. Strange clutch.

Its certainly worth the fifty for parts if nothing else. I have an engine from a 72 400 that came with the recoil like that with the long handle. Not sure if it belonged there or not.

Also the trottle cable bracket is scorpion.I dont think it is a /4or /5 because the fan is mounted internally and the /4,/5 were external.

intake is /3 covering is /2 at a guess probably a 400.
as for the fan comment jd ccw fans were all the same differences were 1 bolt on the top for engine cover and the plastic fan cover.

Good eye Danno. Scorp cable end on carb bracket. You must have a huge monitor!

I hate to argue but if jd used /3 and /4 the fans are different I have both and a manual to back it up.Rodimus Prime wrote:intake is /3 covering is /2 at a guess probably a 400.
