1976 Sno Jet Astro

Post by jasoniowa »

I picked up a 1976 Sno Jet Astro, it has a kawasaki 440 engine. I am having trouble finding out what the points should be gapped at. I am getting no spark right now. Any info on the Sno Jet would be great. There are a few websites out there but not much for info.

Thanks

A 76 should have a Yamaha engine. A 77 would be Kawwy powered.

Jason did you unplug the engine electrical connector and see if you get spark then?

If you have an ohm meter you can test the internal and external coils, plug wires, grounds ect.

If you don't have a meter buy one. I bought one at Sears on Black Friday for $10.

O.k. my son was messing around with the points and set one at like .020 and the sled had spark on both sides but it was stronger on one side then the other and also the spark was orange not blue. So I tried to set the other point at the same and now no spark again. Now no matter what you set them at I still have not spark just like i origanally had. Any thoughts??

Well we got the sno jet running, had to set the points correctly and clean them. Now I just need some snow.
