Oh no Cyclone
It sounds like the guys did not touch the bottom end other than maybe replacing the crank seals.

Thanks for the quick follow up. Sometimes topics get forgotten, so I appreciate you guys keeping an eye out for it.
Well, Rich I am no longer a fan of synthetic oil either.
Harleysportster that thought crossed my mind that the bearings had never been done. The guy that "supposedly" rebuilt the crank, I no longer work with. I have found some really good guys in Sutters Speed shop outside of Madison WI. They are knowledgeable and also have a really big salvage yard. I have gone though it pretty extensively but it has lots of JD sleds. Something to keep in mind for those traveling through Madison on their way to Horicon.
I am glad to have a website sponsor like Jerome, now we can be assured cranks are done proper.
None the less, new engine is going in. Actually might be able to bring it up to Horicon. Hope to meet you guys up there.

The cyclone is back and very happy. She should be with a brand new engine. Just a couple days late or I would have been with many of you in Eagle River.
Interesting today at a lunch spot of Green Bay was an Amsoil rep. I went over and started to talk to him about what happend. His eyes just lit up when I told him I was a JD sled fan. I was using Amsoil Inceptor High Performance Synthetic oil. He seemed like a pretty interested and knowledgeable person. His thought was that the Inceptor oil is very high performance and high in detergent. Those detergents can break alot of crap loose in an engine and he wonder if the detergents did not break down some crap which consequently plugged the oil injection inlets in the crank case, thus starving the crank of much need lubrication and seized bearings. He gave me his information and said bring up the crankcase and crank and he will have his tech guys inspect along with a sample of the gas oil mixture.
Pretty cool. I might figure out what happend yet.
He did suggest in the future using their HP oil or a Saber Professional premix oil. This Saber Professional premix oil is unique in that is very high quality/potent and so you only use it at 100:1 ratio. He said this product will lubricate and at the same time provide more raw gasoline which in turn will greatly increase power. It sounds pretty cool, I am not sure I am bold enough to try it but it sounded good.
This guy seemed really interested and seeing how they are a Wisconsin based company (Superior) home of the John Deere snowmobile, JDMatt I wonder if they might be interested in becoming a sponsor for the website. Just a thought.
This website/passion/interest is growing guys. I joined just 2 years ago and I can not believe all the good things we have going on now compared to 2 years ago.
