Mikuni Carb Sizes ?

Post by johnnycyclone »

I'm sure this will be an easy one for most of you, but I need to know. How can you tell what size a Mikuni carb is?

Thanks...Terre

Measure inside diameter of the MOTOR side of the carb body in MM"s. There you go!

Mikuni Carb Sizes ?

Post by pj sportfire »

A few months ago, I purchased a 1980 Sportfire 440 and was trying to identify the odd-ball Mikuni carb on that one too, since it had the wrong on it. After asking around a *LOT* and not really getting the direct info I needed to help me~ I figured it out on my own. Now I can help you! :beers;

The carb size, model number and version number are stamped on the carb body just above the threaded boss that the choke plunger screws into. (see picture) Then, you can go to the factory service manual of the sled you have (you can get this from vintagesnow.com) to make sure it's the correct one that's supposed to be on your sled. If you're not sure there either, you can also download the Mikuni tuning manual there and it will have even further detailed information for you. :smile:
